EasyJet adds sixth plane to NI fleet

Budget carrier, EasyJet is to add another aircraft to its complement at Belfast International Airport, bringing its tally at the hub to sixth.

The A320 is due to be delivered on June 22 next year and will assist the operator in maintaining its schedule of more than 32flights a day between Belfast and London.

EasyJet has been running its Northern Irish operations for more than 19 years and in that time, it has carried more than 50 million passengers.

Ali Hayward, UK country manager for the airline said: “The addition of another aircraft will help us deliver long-term sustainable growth at the base, providing passengers with a greater range of destinations.”

And Graham Keddie, managing director at the airport, said that he was pleased to see EasyJet’s “strong focus” on developing its UK market: “As Northern Ireland’s leading airline, they continue to be a strong supporter of the local economy, creating even more capacity and choice for Northern Ireland consumers.”
