Meridian Hotel Planned for Alfred Street
Plans have been submitted for a new 233 bedroom hotel on Alfred Street Belfast on the former Department for Infrastructure site.
Plans indicate the new hotel will be called The Meridian.
The existing building was previously used as office accommodation and is currently vacant. The proposed development will transform the property into a hospitality -led scheme comprising hotel accommodation and supporting facilities.
The ground floor will include a reception area, guest lounge, breakfast and restaurant space, bar, kitchen, stores, staff facilities, service room, and delivery room. Floors one to seven will comprise 233 hotel rooms, plus some ancillary rooms. These are all designed to provide “high-quality accommodation” in the heart of Belfast.
The owners have said, “The proposed conversion of Clarence Court represents a positive redevelopment opportunity within Belfast City Centre.”
“The scheme will bring a vacant building back into productive use, provide high-quality hotel accommodation and hospitality facilities, and improve accessibility and functionality throughout the property.”
Plans were submitted in September and awaiting approval.
