World Rum day takes place this Saturday, July 10, and to celebrate the spirit which makes so many cocktails sing there a couple of new products to try.
Boasting notes of juicy pineapple, creamy coconut, and sweet guava, Bacardi Tropical is the perfect summer sip for a backyard Piña Colada or refreshing Mojito.
Marketing director Maria Galis said: “At Bacardi, we know that flavored rum is the fastest growing segment in the category. To give people a delicious new flavored rum option and get them excited about what is sure to be an unforgettable summer, we created Bacardi Tropical.
“It brings the natural fruit flavors of the Caribbean to classic rum cocktails like the Piña Colada, Mojito, or the Tropical Sunset, which is our take on the Hurricane. It is also just as versatile and delicious when mixed with juices or soda for an easy, vacation-worthy sip.”
Aldi too is getting in on on the flavour act with a new raspberry mojito rum joining its spirits range for summer.
The retailer says it “boasts notes of sweet fresh raspberry, citrus with delicious mint,” and it’s available at £14.99 and is available in store.
The retailer has also announced a new dark tropical pineapple rum as part of its summer offerings, described as having “mouth-watering island flavours of pineapple, tropical fruit, red apple and just a hint of spice.”
Aldi recommends serving its Cassario Tropical Pineapple Rum over ginger beer with a slice of lime.
Also available at just £14.99 a bottle it’s just one of many good reasons to raise a glass this weekend.
