Pub food heroes battle it out for LCN gong

The shortlist for the LCN Awards Pub Food of the Year gong has been unveiled.

Six venues are this year squaring off the coveted title, with the winner being crowned at the LCN Awards gala dinner and prize-giving on September 30, and with tickets for the big night selling fast it would be well advised to snap yours up now.

The sensational six shortlisted are:

  • Friels Bar and Restaurant, Swatragh
  • Fullerton Arms, Ballintoy
  • Groucho’s on the Square, Richhill
  • Harbour and Company, Donaghadee
  • The Speckled Hen, Lisburn
  • The Thatch Inn Broughshane

Thatch Inn director Alison McCombe told LCN: “Myself and all of the team at the Thatch are very excited to be nominated as a finalist for ‘Pub Food of the Year’ at the up and coming LCN Awards at the end of September.

“The staff have been working extremely hard over the last year and it’s a pleasure to receive recognition for all that and the wonderful food that comes out of the kitchen here at the Thatch. Of course it’s not just the food that makes the experience special it is everyone involved from the suppliers to the chefs and the waiting staff and we like to think we’ve got it all right here.

“We are really looking forward to the big night itself and celebrating Northern Irelands great hospitality Industry along with all the other LCN Awards nominees.”

As for the big night itself, it includes a feast of top entertainment, with hosts Sarah Travers and Joe Lindsay returning to keep the show on the track throughout.

This year promises to bigger and better than ever, with past winners licking their lips at the prospect of a return and the possibility that they could again be among the winners of Northern Ireland’s most prestigious hospitality awards.
