The 1852 Hotel and Town Square Bar Sold
Ringland Group have announced the sale for an undisclosed sum of The 1852 Hotel and Town Square Bar on Botanic Avenue.
The well-known hotel and bar complex has been sold after going on the market for offers over £2.85m in June.
The property has now been acquired by Fahrenheit 7 Ltd, led by Conor Wylie.
Ringland Group said the proceeds of sale would be reinvested in The Bottleworks, a £13.5m hotel it is planning for Callender Street in Belfast city centre.
Peter Ringland, managing director of The Ringland Group, told the Belfast Telegraph “The 1852 Hotel has been a pleasure to own for the past decade, and we’re proud of what it has become: one of the most efficient, best-run hospitality businesses in Belfast.
“Handing it on to Fahrenheit 7 feels like a great fit. They are taking on a beautiful building and a truly exceptional team, and we wish them every success.”
“Our energy now goes into The Bottleworks, our £13.5m, 76-bedroom hotel on Callender Street in Belfast city centre, opening in 2027.”
He said the hotel would also have two separate bars, a restaurant and a coffee shop on the site of Belfast’s historic Moreton & Co. Beer Bottlers, established in 1887.
More recently, the site was the home of Lindsay House, an office block which had been home to accountancy firm BDO and NI Chamber. However, the site was acquired by Ringland Group last year.
The group has also recently submitted planning proposals for a new rooftop bar on Howard Street, above its pizza restaurant, Amelia Hall. It also owns the hotel The Flint, next to Amelia Hall on Howard Street.
