Belfast Castle without restaurant as hunt begins for caterer
The Belfast Castle restaurant has closed at short notice while the council searches for a new caterer to take it on
On Sunday, December 11, The Tavern and Cellar Restaurant closed with “immediate effect” with a sign appearing on the door telling customers that it would not be open.
Belfast City Council has said that the restaurant has had to “close prematurely”.
A spokesman said said that it hopes to have the facility open again as soon as possible and that it is in the process of procuring a new caterer.
They added: “The retail offering at Belfast Castle has had to close prematurely. Customers that have been affected by the closure are being contacted.”
