Award-winning chicken hatch set for new city venue

Wing It, which serves “proper chicken wings” from a food hatch attached to the Botanic Inn on Malone Road is set to open another outlet

“Stay calm,” it posted on Instagram. “Very excited about this one. Coming soon. Very soon.”

The post included a short video confirming that “Wing It at The Boneyard [is] coming soon”.

Wing It has become a popular stop for Belfast foodies looking for some tasty chicken since it first opened in 2021.

Just last month it named as one of the best restaurants in NI and Ireland at the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024.

In January Wing It revealed plans for its first sit-in venue in Ballyhackamore. “Wing It: Ballyhack,” it posted on social media.

“Say hello to a whole new Wing It experience. Coming 2024.

“Ps. Yes. It has 4 walls, a roof and a door. So it is a sit in.”

The eatery also assured loyal customers worried about the future of the Bot hatch takeaway hub will remain open in south Belfast.

Less than a week ago, a popular burger outlet announced it is also opening at The Boneyard bar on Bedford Street.

The move marks the first expansion for HiBurger which is based at Banana Block on the Newtownards Road in east Belfast and ended days of speculation after the store teased the move on their social media accounts last week.

“We are delighted to announce that our second location will be at The Boneyard Belfast,” they said.

The outlet added that they would also be continuing to trade out of their original site in east Belfast.”
