New street food and culture venue ‘HALT’ to open July 8
New hub at former Europa Bus Centre promises food, drink, live music and community spirit.
A major new street food and cultural destination is set to open in Belfast city centre on Tuesday, July 8, as HALT launches at the former Europa Bus Centre site. Billed as a vibrant new space for food, drink, events and entertainment, HALT is the first visible step in the £500 million Weavers Cross regeneration project.
The venue will bring a lively mix of indoor and outdoor areas, complete with a dedicated bar, street food containers, and event space. With both local and global cuisines on offer, HALT aims to be a social and culinary destination for residents, workers, and tourists alike.
Positioned beside the upcoming Belfast Grand Central Station, the new market is ideally located to serve a projected 20 million annual passengers. HALT is expected to create up to 40 new jobs, contributing to the local economy while revitalising this key part of the Linen Quarter.
Developed by MRP as a “meanwhile-use” initiative while the broader Weavers Cross scheme progresses, HALT has already fully let phase one, with interest now open for phase two.
Local leaders have welcomed the project as a creative and community-focused reimagining of a previously under-used space, with plans for live music, artisanal food, and pop-up retail experiences throughout the summer.
