New York-inspired late bar “Rudi” to open July 10
A stylish new addition to Belfast’s nightlife scene is set to open its doors on July 10, with the launch of Rudi, a New York–inspired basement bar and nightclub.
The venue forms part of a major £5.5 million redevelopment of the Clarence Chambers Building on Donegall Square East, led by local hospitality group, The Clover Group.
Rudi will occupy the lower level of the building, offering a moody, atmospheric space designed for late-night socialising, with table service, booth reservations, and an immersive vibe.
Above it, the much-loved cocktail bar Margot will be relocated to the ground floor as part of the expansion. The upgraded Margot will feature three cocktail bars, a food offering, and scenic views of City Hall, aiming to enhance both its capacity and customer experience.
The Clover Group, which operates other popular venues including Whites Tavern and The Jailhouse, has described the redevelopment as a way to “build on the success and popularity of Margot,” while introducing something new and distinctive to Belfast’s city centre.
Director Mark Beirne said the new venues would offer “memorable, exciting and diverse opportunities” for both daytime and late-night visitors. He added that the new space blends a “strong Belfast footing” with a fresh, cosmopolitan twist inspired by the energy of New York.
