£10m spa village planned for Galgorm

A further £10m investment at Galgorm Resort & Spa near Ballymena will see the addition of 48 new luxury bedrooms and a unique Spa Village development.

Plans for the latest developments at the award-winning hotel were revealed recently. The new Spa Village at Galgorm will see the spa facilities extend to 7000m2, merging internal and external spa elements on the same site. The Village will boast a relaxation pool as well as the first Snow Paradise experience in Ireland along with a luxurious relaxation area to be known as The Orangery.

Outside areas will include a Riverside Sauna, plunge pool, a sheltered relaxation area with an open fire and private Dutch Tubs heated by their own log fires, all set on the banks of the River Maine.

The bedroom development sees the addition of 45 deluxe bedrooms and three two-bedroom suites offering river and countryside views. The development will bring the total number of rooms available at Galgorm to 128.

Managing Director Paul Smyth said that the aim had been to create something “very special” at Glagorm – the current holder of the LCN Hotel of the Year (under 75 rooms) title:

“We are launching what will become an awe-inspiring space, where staying overnight or just visiting for the day will be a relaxed, informal and friendly experience to savour,” he added. “We are excited for the future of the resort and feel this new development will firmly place us on the international map”.

The project has been financially assisted by Invest NI and First Trust Bank, Northern Ireland and the new facilities should be open by September of this year.
