Sports bar opens with interactive games and street food offering
A prominent Belfast hospitality group has expanded its city centre footprint with the launch of a new interactive sports bar.
Three Sheets opened its doors last Friday at The Marcus Ward complex on Bankmore Square, bringing a competitive socialising concept to the growing leisure scene in the area.
Tucked behind the former Trademarket location on Dublin Road, the venue offers a mix of entertainment including pool tables, darts, arcade machines and wall-to-wall sports coverage on multiple screens. The new opening reflects the industry-wide trend of combining hospitality with hands-on leisure experiences.
Rebel & Ruse, a well-known name from the original Trademarket line-up, is managing the food operation at Three Sheets, serving a casual menu of smoked meats, sliders and pizza by the slice.
The launch marks the latest addition to the portfolio of venues operated by the team behind Common Market, Lux, 39 Gordon Street and The Chester on the Antrim Road. Led by Lawrence Bannon, the group is also responsible for growing the Black Sheep Coffee brand across Northern Ireland.
The Marcus Ward site has a long history in Belfast nightlife and now finds itself adjacent to three major student accommodation projects currently under development along Dublin Road and Great Victoria Street, a location well-suited for high-footfall hospitality offerings.
Initial plans suggest the venue will eventually expand into the full Marcus Ward space, with further interactive elements to be added over time.
Three Sheets is currently open five days a week: from 4pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from midday on Fridays through Sundays.
