Roe Park Hotel and golf resort on sale for £14m

The Roe Park hotel and golf resort in Co Derry has gone on sale for £14 million.

The 118-bed hotel near Limavady has been independently owned since it opened in 1995 and includes an 18-hole parkland golf course, a driving range, golf academy, spa, two restaurants, bars and a health club.

The Roe Park Resort also has three self-catering properties with plans submitted for the development of a further 11 detached self-catering units.

Ownership of the hotel business is shared between Charles Conn, Kevin McKeever and Alan Wilton.

The directors have invested in the region of £3 million in the past three years, upgrading the hotel’s wedding and events facilities, bedrooms, golf course and developing a third self-catering property – the Gate Lodge.

The latest accounts for the hotel business show it recorded a pre-tax profit of £943,000 in 2022 on a turnover of £7.4m.

Alan Wilton, who chairs the company’s board of directors, said: “Roe Park Resort holds a very special place in our hearts, and we are extremely proud of the successful and stable business it is today.

“After almost 30 years, the directors believe that the time is now right for new owners to take up the reins and see the resort continue to thrive into the future.

“This is an exciting transition for Roe Park Resort. One which provides a great opportunity for the resort and the team to develop even further under new ownership.”

The listing of the golf hotel comes just two months after the Slieve Russell Hotel and golf resort in Co Cavan went up for sale with a £30m price tag.
