New Nines bar and restaurant a boon for Bangor

Bangor has welcomed a new restaurant with the opening of The Nines, the first phase in the redevelopment of The Salty Dog boutique hotel.

The Nines bills itself as “a stunning restaurant, public bar and boutique hotel with dreamy views of Bangor Marina and Belfast Lough.”

A stylish, minimalist interior takes its cues from the coastal location with tasteful wood, sea-green leather and curved mirrors that mimic the waves outside.

Johnathan Fusco from The Nines said:  “It’s the most premium addition to the area for quite some time and definitely an impactful change from the previous venue. It’s a brand new, very different environment.

“We have a brilliant new offering from breakfast right through to sunset and we’ve already established a strong brunch and dinner crowd, which has been great. There has been something for everybody.

“There are nine signature cocktails available which are perfect for the views. The Easter holidays have shown us that the place will be a real hit in the summer sunshine, and the cocktails will certainly be flowing.

“We really want to thank everybody who has come and dined or had a drink with us so far, the support has been amazing.”

Johnathan and his team are  now looking forward to plenty of Bangor sunshine this summer, with festivals like Sea Bangor and Open House promising to attract plenty of visitors from near and far. And there’s more to come with plans to completely revamp and relaunch the extensive beer garden to the rear, and to upgrade the boutique hotel’s rooms.
