New Korean food and culture venue set to open in South Belfast

South Belfast’s food scene is about to gain a new addition with the arrival of Seoul Food & Studio, a Korean restaurant and cultural space preparing to open on the Ormeau Road.

The new venture will occupy one of the units in the former Bank of Ireland building, adding to the growing number of eateries revitalising the area. Combining a café, restaurant, and cultural hub, Seoul Food & Studio aims to provide a distinctive experience that goes beyond dining, offering visitors the chance to engage with aspects of Korean culture in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

In preparation for its opening, Seoul Food & Studio has begun recruiting for various positions, including front-of-house staff and an events co-ordinator. The team is seeking individuals who can help create a vibrant atmosphere through excellent customer service and involvement in organising cultural events and activities. In a recent job advertisement, the business highlighted its focus on professionalism, respect, and warm hospitality.

The restaurant is also on the lookout for kitchen staff, particularly cooks with experience or a keen interest in Korean cuisine. The role offers an opportunity to develop skills while working alongside a team that values tradition, creativity, and high standards in the kitchen.

Seoul Food & Studio joins a wave of new food businesses reshaping the Ormeau Road. Its arrival comes following the recent closure of Café Arirang on Botanic Avenue, which had long been a fixture in Belfast’s Korean dining scene. Meanwhile, Gogi Belfast has been attracting attention with its Korean barbecue pop-ups at venues such as Banana Block in east Belfast.

The Ormeau Road is fast becoming a destination for food enthusiasts, with Seoul Food & Studio set to share the building with Duck Donuts, a US-based chain opening its first Belfast location. Founded in North Carolina in 2007, Duck Donuts now operates more than 100 branches across the United States, with additional outlets in countries including Egypt, Canada and the Philippines.

As Seoul Food & Studio prepares to open its doors, Belfast’s culinary landscape continues to expand, offering diners even more variety and choice.
