Lough Erne partners with Action Mental Health

Lough Erne Resort has unveiled a new charity partnership with Action Mental Health.

The announcement coincides with Mental Health Awareness Week and will involve mindfulness initiatives throughout the next 12 months at the fiver-star luxury Fermanagh resort.

As part of the new association, the gold and spa resort will support the charity by facilitating fundraising activities.

Joanne Walsh, above, general manager at Lough Erne Resort, said the move help build awareness of mental health issues and offer support to Action Mental Health which has seen demand for its services grow massively post-pandemic.

Ms Walsh said: “For Lough Erne Resort, which is operated by US-based Tru Hospitality, this is a way of supporting the local Fermanagh community which has been so supportive of us for 15 years now.

“The pandemic has had a profound impact on the mental health of many — from young people to the elderly.

“This can be even more prevalent in a rural community like Fermanagh which can be more isolated than larger conurbations and have less access to support.

“We currently have a number of staff on placement from AMH who are part of our core team, so this partnership is a natural fit.”
