Hop House thrilled to lift Live Music Venue gong at LCN Awards

Popular Bangor venue Hop House is celebrating having scooped the Live Music Venue of the Year gong at the recent LCN Awards.

What was once Coyles Bar and Bistro in High Street is now a jumping two-storey, dog-friendly bar, eaterie and performance space which is driven by live music and a devoted and passionate clientele.

Judges for Spotcheck said of the winner:  ” There was a great atmosphere in this venue.  The emphasis on live music offering with open mic night, DJ Friday and live acts on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday appealed to a wide audience.”

Hop House beat stiff competition to lift the title, sponsored by PPL PRS, including Dorman’s Bar, Magherafelt, The Goat’s Toe, Bangor and The Corner House Bar, Lurgan.

On collecting the coveted gong,  at at Belfast’s Europa Hotel, Nathan Bowen said: “We have great team at Hop House and it is a brilliant venue to visit. Championing live music is what it is all about and it’s great to see venues like ours flying again after what they had to endure during the worst of Covid. This ward means an awful lot.”

The venue also made a point of shouting about their achievement on Facebook, writing: “Well pleased to have been awarded LIVE MUSIC VENUE OF THE YEAR 2022 at this years LCN Awards at The Europa hotel Belfast. We had a fantastic time!

“Thank to all our amazing staff and to all our customers, music fans alike!
