Hastings gets on board for Derry Girls coach tour

Following the announcement that the upcoming third series of Derry Girls will be the last, Hastings Hotels and McComb’s Coach Travel have teamed up to launch a new day trip to give fans of the hit show the chance to walk in the shoes of Michelle, Erin, Clare and Orla.

In addition to the Derry Girls Experience, which will go from Belfast to Derry-Londonderry, due to overwhelming demand for the Line of Duty Experience launched in June, additional capacity has been added with a second option running from the Europa Hotel. Both tours will run weekly from Saturday 6th November.

Julie Hastings, marketing director of Hastings Hotels said: “We’re devastated that the much-loved Derry Girls series is coming to an end. However, we are thrilled to be able to partner up with McComb’s to launch this fabulous new experience and give fans the chance to be a Derry Girl for the day.

“They will be able to visit some of the most famous filming locations and enjoy afternoon tea that has been inspired by the show and includes sausage roll baps, fresh cream horns, a cone of chips and Tayto cheese and onion sarnies.

‘Great banter and craic’

“In addition to this, we have been blown away by the response to our Line of Duty Experience with over 1,000 people booking it to date. We are excited to be able to double the capacity by launching a new tour from the Europa Hotel and give even more fans of the hit show the chance to follow in the footsteps of their favourite coppers from AC-12.”

The Derry Girls Experience will depart from the Europa Hotel onboard a luxurious McComb’s coach and gives fans the chance to see some of the filming locations with Charlene McCrossan of McCrossan City Tours.

It’s then off to the Everglades to enjoy a Derry Girls Afternoon Tea which includes sandwiches, freshly baked scones & breads and a pastry assortment but with a Derry Girls twist – sausage roll baps, fresh cream horns, cone of chips, Tayto cheese and onion sarnies and a cocktail.
