Co Down coastal restaurant listed for sale

A well-regarded seafood restaurant in the picturesque village of Annalong has gone on the market after its operating company was officially liquidated earlier this year.

The Harbour Inn, known for its fresh seafood and panoramic views of the Mourne Mountains and Annalong harbour, had been under the direction of local chef Trevor Orr. Orr first joined the restaurant as head chef in 2014 and later assumed full control of the business, helping to build its reputation as a go-to destination in south Down.

Despite its popularity, the company behind the restaurant, Orville Ltd, faced mounting financial difficulties and was formally wound up on May 1 under the Insolvency (Northern Ireland) Order 1989. The decision followed a period of economic strain that has impacted businesses across Northern Ireland.

The Harbour Inn is now being offered for sale at £450,000. The substantial 8,200 sq ft property includes a main restaurant that seats 70 diners, a bar area with space for an additional 40 guests, and a fully equipped function room that can accommodate up to 150 people—making it suitable for private events, weddings, or corporate functions.

Set in a prime coastal location, the venue attracted visitors from across the region who were drawn to its relaxed atmosphere, sea views, and locally inspired menu. Its closure marks the end of a chapter for a business that had become a staple of the Annalong community.

The listing presents a significant opportunity for investors or restaurateurs looking to revitalise a well-loved site with strong potential in a scenic, high-footfall area.
