Bangor’s Royal Hotel and Windsor Bar on the Market

Historic north Down hotel is on the market, with planning permission for its demolition and the development of dozens of apartments.

The former Royal Hotel and Windsor Bar in Bangor has been listed for sale by agents Frazer Kidd for offers over £1m.

Located near the centre of the town and next to its marina, the property is also close to the proposed regeneration of Bangor’s marine gardens.

Ards and North Down Borough Council granted planning permission for the demolition of the hotel and the construction of 35 apartments and three retail units.

This planning permission will be available to any potential buyers. However, the listing also notes that the property is “suitable for several other uses, such as hotel, nursing home, etc, subject to planning”.

In the listing for 22-28 Quay Street, Bangor, prospective buyers are offered the chance to purchase a 0.34-acre site that currently houses a building with more than 35,000 sq ft in area.
