Yugo’s owners pull the shutters down on their latest venture
Gerard McFarlane and Kyle Stewart, the men behind the award-winning Yugo restaurant, have closed their latest city centre venue Ferine after less than four months in business.
Ferine on Wellington Street was launched in June in the original Yugo premises on Wellington Street , with Yugo having expanded into a bigger unit next door.
In 2020 Mr McFarlane and Mr Stewart launched Yugo East in Ballyhackmore, before transforming it into a venue named Lottie in March 2022.
Lottie however closed in June this year, with the owners promising “glimpses” of the venue at Ferine. Head chef of Yugo East, Lottie and Ferine.
The restaurant had received good reviews from the public and critics alike, with the Belfast Telegraph’s Jorris Minne describing it as “a belting triumph” and “counting the days” until he could return.
