The Rabbit Bar & Restaurant opens with enchanting new dining experience

New-look bar and restaurant launches this month to mark the arrival of The Rabbit Hotel, formerly known as The Templeton

Galgorm Collection has officially revealed the name of its new-look boutique hotel, ‘The Rabbit’, formerly known as the Templeton, and announced the opening of its brand new Rabbit Bar & Restaurant on Friday 17th July.

Burrowed in the heart of the picturesque village of Templepatrick, Co Antrim, The Rabbit Bar and Restaurant exudes sass, with a chic interior, bespoke lighting and eclectic décor for an unforgettable dining experience.

Taking centre stage is The Rabbit’s show-stopping bar, adorned with glistening bronze, where expert mixologists shake up the finest libations.

With a menu inspired by the American Deep South, featuring seasonal, local produce and the finest cuts of meat, The Rabbit is the perfect den for couples, friends and families to escape, with a menu designed for sharing.

The Rabbit Bar & Restaurant seats up to 180 and boasts a large outdoor terrace for al fresco dining, offering stunning views of the property’s newly installed garden.

Galgorm Collection acquired the former Templeton Hotel last year and is currently undergoing a £7 million investment. Extensive refurbishment work has been undertaken to upgrade the hotel’s 24 guest rooms and develop a new outdoor spa offering, due to open later this year. The Rabbit Bar & Restaurant refurbishment represents an investment of £2.5 million into the property.

Galgorm Collection Managing Director, Colin Johnston, said:

“With more people holidaying at home, the Rabbit Bar & Restaurant provides a new and exciting hospitality experience – and it’s just in time for summer.

The multi-million pound project to transform and redevelop the former Templeton Hotel commenced in October last year and it represents a significant investment in the local economy, cementing our longstanding commitment to support and grow our tourism industry.

We’re excited to reveal The Rabbit’s new name and announce plans for its full opening later this year. While work continues on preparations for the hotel’s accommodation and spa area, it’s fantastic to be able to unlock the doors to The Rabbit Bar & Restaurant and welcome locals and visitors alike.

With full safety measures in place and an unrivalled, fresh new offering, The Rabbit is the perfect place for reuniting with loved ones and enjoying memorable new experiences.”

In addition to the accommodation, spa and bar and restaurant offering, a new banqueting suite and wedding venue, ‘The Loft’, is also set to launch later this year at The Rabbit.

This exclusive-use venue offers unabridged luxury in a magical setting. With high vaulted ceilings adorned with twinkling feature chandeliers, marble dining tables, dramatic fireplaces and a stunning romantic lake view from the spacious outdoor terrace, the fairy-tale setting is the ideal backdrop for a picture-perfect wedding day.

The newly named and refurbished property adds to Galgorm’s already impressive suite of hospitality investments, which includes £1.5 million in Belfast-based restaurants’ Fratelli & Café Parisien and the £600,000 purchase and refurbishment of the Castle Kitchen + Bar at Galgorm Castle Golf Club in 2018.

As well as supporting its world-class leisure proposition, the opening of this new property represents a further strategic enhancement of the group’s hospitality assets and reinforces the company’s ongoing commitment to the tourism industry and Northern Ireland as a whole.

Galgorm is renowned for creating world-class hospitality experiences throughout their award-winning properties in Northern Ireland. Galgorm has received numerous awards and accolades for their stellar service and offering, including receiving the Four AA Red Star Award for excellence in quality and hospitality last year, as well as previously holding the coveted title of Global Luxury Spa Hotel of the Year.
