New Indian Restaurant Ru to open in Little Wings Location
The Indian restaurant is set to be called Ru and will be operated by the Beannchor group, which owns the likes of The Merchant, The National, Dirty Onion. It will open on the Little Wing location on Ann Street, which is re-locating elsewhere on the same street.
According to an Instagram page for the new restaurant, it will be “Indian-inspired cooking with a local influence. Local produce and food made for sharing.”
Customers don’t have long to wait for the new spot as the owners have teased an opening date, saying “Ru is coming this October.”
The post stated “We’ve been busy getting the menu ready, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you. Indian cooking shaped by local influences, with plenty to discover across the menu.”
They have given a little insight into the restaurant’s style, saying that “food at Ru is made for sharing” and that you should “Order for the table, pass things around, and try a little of everything.”
The move is part of a £14m development project currently underway on the busy city centre street. Beannchor are currently transforming former retail and restaurant units into a new hotel complex.
Plans show that the new site will include a 41-bedroom hotel with a bar and restaurant, which will be connected internally to the current Little Wing location.
It appears Little Wing will move into the former Spoon Street unit, which will open directly onto a courtyard space with the original flagship store becoming Ru, according to plans submitted to Belfast City Council.
