Iconic Glens of Antrim bar on the market for £350,000
Mary McBride’s, an award-winning Glens of Antrim pub, has been put on the market for £350,000.
‘The Little Black Door’ of Cushendun, which was first licensed in the 1860s, was once considered one of the smallest bars in Ireland.
Named for its late landlady, the pub has become a tourist focal point for the scenic Antrim coastal village.
It’s one of only 10 pubs in the north to boast one of the Game of Thrones doors, carved from the wood from trees felled by storms at the iconic Dark Hedges.
Cushendun’s nearby caves were among the scenic locations used in the worldwide HBO smash hit series.
Mary’s parents later inherited the pub and ran it until 1951, before the pub’s namesake took over, running the venue until her death in 1982.
It was taken over by Cormac McKeegan and his sister Fiona in 2006.
The property is being marketed by Cushendall-based estate agent Daniel McAlister & Son.
