Coca-Cola HBC boss appointed chair of Northern Ireland Food and Drink Association
The general manager of Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland has been appointed chair of the Northern Ireland Food and Drink Association (NIFDA).
At its 30th annual general meeting, NIFDA appointed Simon Fitzpatrick as chair, succeeding Professor Ursula Lavery MBE, who is stepping down from the role. Bernie Orr, chief financial officer at SHS Group, was appointed vice chair.
NIFDA held its landmark AGM on May 27, bringing together leaders and representatives from across the industry to reflect on the past year and discuss opportunities for the sector. Michael Bell OBE, executive director at NIFDA also presented the findings of the recent EY Economic Impact Assessment of Northern Ireland’s agri-food sector.
Simon Fitzpatrick said: “It is a privilege to take on the role of chair, following the outstanding leadership of Ursula Lavery MBE, at such a pivotal time for Northern Ireland’s food and drink sector. We have an industry with real ambition and talent, one that is not only central to our local economy, but increasingly recognised for its quality, innovation and resilience on a global stage.”
Welcoming Bernie’s appointment as vice chair, Simon added: “I would also like to congratulate Bernie on her appointment as vice chair. Since joining the NIFDA Board last year, she has already made her mark and a strong contribution. Her experience and insight will be invaluable as we continue to support and represent the sector.”
