Bushmills Cask Finish is rum-thing a little special for famous distillery

Bushmills Irish Whiskey and Cuba might not seem a marriage made in heaven but the release of the famous distillery’s Caribbean Rum Cask Finish might just change your mind.

The first in a series of the exciting new Original Cask Finish range is available to buy from April 15 across Ireland and is blended with the brand’s signature triple distilled Irish grain whiskey.

The difference maker is the hand-selected fine oak Caribbean Rum casks it is kept in, which help create tropical fruit and dry spice flavours.

Each of the casks, at least seven years old, was chosen by Caribbean rum makers and transported to Ireland. And in the Bushmills’ warehouses they impart pineapple sweetness, caramelized brown sugar notes and toffee tones into every bottle.

Perfect for drinking as is or blending into flavoursome cocktails, the Bushmills Caribbean Rum Cask Finish is on sale from Thursday 15 April via select online and in-store retailers, bottled at 40% ABV, and priced at €30 / £24 for 700ml.
