Andras Hotels opens Holiday Inn Belfast City Centre

Belfast’s biggest hotel Group, Andras Hotels, has today officially opened its new Holiday Inn Belfast City Centre.

The hotel, located on Hope Street just off Great Victoria Street, is the result of a £2.5m investment supported by HSBC, and has a focus on serving Belfast’s burgeoning corporate market and the fast growing leisure tourism sector.

The completely refurbished, 250-room Holiday Inn Belfast City Centre is owned and operated by Andras Hotels, who also own  the Holiday Inn Express Belfast City near Queen’s.

The project has seen all 250 rooms and public areas refitted and furnished in a contemporary, up-market style. A new restaurant concept, The Oakwood Grill, offers New England-style cuisine as well as providing 24-hour room service. The hotel also benefits from a new gym and an updated meetings and conference room with a 60-person capacity and free WiFi throughout the entire property.

The curtains, furniture and beds have been made in Northern Ireland and the artwork comprises original prints by local artist Lucy Turner. Local designers, landscape architects, consultants and contractors have been used throughout.

The parent company of the Holiday Inn brand, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), has awarded the Holiday Inn franchise to Andras Hotels. IHG is one of the world’s leading hotel companies with over 4,900 hotels worldwide in nearly 100 countries and more than 1,200 hotels in its development pipeline.  Holiday Inn is the one of the most recognised hotel brand in the world with more than 1,000 hotels open globally.

Rajesh Rana, director of Andras Hotels says that he’s delighted to be opening the doors of Holiday Inn Belfast City Centre:

“The culmination of a £2.5M investment with the support of HSBC and IHG and all of our local partners has seen this property utterly transformed,” he adds. “At 250 bedrooms, the quality and size of this Holiday Inn hotel along with its international recognition and fantastic new design and facilities will be a great benefit to visitors to Belfast and Visit Belfast when selling the city as a conference venue.”

Anna Corkill, Development Director for the UK & Ireland, IHG said: “Belfast is a fantastic city and we are delighted to be developing this property with Andras Hotels who are a long-standing partner of ours. Holiday Inn Belfast City Centre is a great addition to our portfolio.”
