Belfast restaurant announces expansion to city centre The owners of Shed Bistro, a well-established South Belfast restaurant named the 2023 Café/Bistro of the Year at the LCN Awards, have announced plans to open a new venue in Belfast’s city centre. This expansion represents a new chapter for the husband-and-wife team, emphasising their continued commitment to delivering quality dining experiences. Christina and Jonny Taylor launched Shed on Ormeau Road in 2013, quickly gaining popularity among locals. In 2020, they invested £200,000 to double the size of the restaurant, further elevating its status within Belfast’s vibrant hospitality scene. In a social media post, the owners shared: “It’s with heavy hearts we share that after pouring everything into Shed Bistro… the long nights, the early mornings, the endless graft… we’ve finally decided it’s time to close our doors on Monday. We know it’s sudden, but we’re exhausted and need to step back…… But only for one day.” They continued: “Because we’ve been cooking up something new behind the scenes. Shed Bistro is about to become a big brother — say hello to Shed Grill & Seafood opening Thursday 4th September at 17 Brunswick Street. Come as you are. Eat well. Leave happy. Bookings now open: shedbelfast.com or grill@shedbelfast.com.” The new venue aims to bring a contemporary, relaxed dining experience focused on grilled dishes and fresh seafood, serving as a fresh addition to Belfast’s city centre food scene.
