Lisburn’s Huxo Cafe closes after ‘much consideration’

Huxo Cafe, a popular eatery in Lisburn’s Bow Street Mall, has permanently closed its doors, with its final day of operation on 6th January 2025. The decision, described as a difficult one, was made after “much consideration”.

In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, the team said:
“It is with a heavy heart that we regrettably announce the closure of Huxo from 6th January 2025. After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cease operations.

“We deeply apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and extend our heartfelt gratitude for your support over the years. To everyone who [has] walked through our doors, shared a meal, celebrated special moments, or just popped in for coffee – thank you.”

The cafe also provided guidance for customers holding vouchers:
“For customers who have purchased vouchers, we kindly ask that you send an image of your voucher to acc@huxo.cafe. We will work to address all concerns promptly.”

The announcement prompted heartfelt responses from patrons, with one writing:
“We always enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. It was our local meet-up point with our uncles when we visit and before that I always enjoyed popping in for a coffee or bite to eat. Sorry to see you guys go.”

Others speculated on the challenges faced by the business, with one customer commenting on the “lack of footfall in Lisburn” and noting they “were not surprised” by the closure.
