NI pizza van brothers making dough as they go

Two brothers have taken to the road in a new travelling pizza van hoping to take a slice out of the NI fast food market.

Glen and Andrew McWilliams worked as a butcher and joiner before deciding to buy a van and turn it into a pizza oven earlier this year.

The brothers, from Newtownbutler, Co Fermanagh, have been impressing food lovers at various events in the summer months with their The Dough and Arrow Woodfired Pizza.

Glen said: “We took the plunge and here we are now. We were initially looking at a trailer and then it became a van and next thing we were over in England getting somebody to kit it out for us.

“So it just kind of snowballed from there!”

The business has been a family operation so far, with Glen and Andrew’s wives and sister pitching in to get it off the ground.

“The response had  been great and we are very busy and we’re hoping over the winter time will be the same,” said Glen.

“Within the van there is everything you could possibly need for pizza making. As it is a small working space it was designed in such a way that you start at one end of the van and the pizzas make their way around in a process.”
