Killeavy Castle rebrands award-winning restaurant

The restaurant at the LCN award-winning  Killeavy Castle Estate in Co Armagh has been relaunched to showcase the produce of the region and nod to its location in the Ring of Gullion.

The 2 AA Rosette award-winning eaterie has been rebranded Gullion at Killeavy, with executive chef Darragh Dooley at the helm and a commitment to using suppliers from the area as much as possible.

Longhorn Cattle and Cheviot Sheep are raised on the estate’s working farm, with its in-house butcher guaranteeing the traceability of every cut. The estate gardens are a source of fresh vegetables and herbs.

Mr Dooley said: “Launching Gullion at Killeavy is a proud moment for us, as it brings to life not just a restaurant, but a culinary narrative deeply rooted in our commitment to sustainability and celebrating the local landscape.

“The carefully curated menus, echoing the rich offerings of our working farm and local Irish suppliers, mirrors the vibrant story of Co Armagh.

“The restaurant’s name and design, thoughtfully crafted to celebrate our local surroundings, seamlessly integrate with the ethos of Gullion at Killeavy. We can’t wait to welcome guests and members of the local community to experience our latest seasonal offering from Killeavy Castle Estate.”

Owners Mick and Robin Boyle opened the four-star luxury Killeavy Castle Estate in 2019, six years after they bought it. Mr Boyle is from south Armagh but moved to Australia as a child.

A full restoration and building programme began to turn the estate into a 45-bed hotel and spa as well as a restaurant, bar, walled garden and cafe, and an event space for up to 220 people.
