Hastings turnover breaks £40m mark

The Hastings Hotel Group, which owns six hotels in Northern Ireland including the five-star Culloden Estate & Spa, has pushed its turnover past the £40m mark.

The company reported recently that for the year ending October 31, 2015, its turnover had been £42.5m, compared with £39.8m for the same period the previous year. Pre-tax profit also rose from £2.19m to £4.23m.

In their report, Hastings directors said that the results were “satisfactory” and gave an assurance that they would continue to seek every opportunity to increase their turnover.

The group has also reaffirmed its commitment to develop the new Grand Central Hotel in Belfast, a £30m investment at the old Windsor House building which would see the creation of around 150 new jobs.

Hastings intends to create a 200-bedroom hotel with 18 serviced apartments, a restaurant, bar and office accommodation.

In the report, the company said the scheme was still on target to complete in 2018.
