Meet the Buyer event cancelled

Meet the Buyer 2020, which was due to take place at the ICC in Belfast on March 24 has been cancelled due to concerns over the spread of the coronavirus.

A total of 162 international buyers were to have attended this annual international sales platform, organised by Tourism NI.

The decision was taken after a review which considered the number of buyers planning to attend and the available appointments for the industry to engage with buyers. It was felt that with a growing number of available appointments not going ahead due to buyer cancellations, the only realistic decision was to cancel Meet the Buyer 2020.

Tourism NI has said that it will be working with its partners in Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland in a bid to replace the event with virtual networking opportunities over the coming months.

Full refunds on Meet the Buyer 2020 registration fees will be issued over the coming weeks, said the agency.
