{"id":1436,"date":"2015-04-09T08:02:33","date_gmt":"2015-04-09T08:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.licensedandcateringnews.com\/?p=1436"},"modified":"2015-04-09T08:02:33","modified_gmt":"2015-04-09T08:02:33","slug":"clean-sweep-for-fermanagh-in-housekeeping-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lcnonline.co.uk\/clean-sweep-for-fermanagh-in-housekeeping-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Clean sweep for Fermanagh in Housekeeping Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00a0Pictured with the winners of the recent Hotel &amp; Guesthouse Housekeeping Awards are compere Pamela Ballantine (left) and NIHF president, Mandy Patrick OBE (third from right).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Housekeepers from throughout Northern Ireland gathered at the Holiday Inn, Belfast recently to discover who had cleaned up in this year\u2019s Hotel &amp; Guesthouse Housekeeping Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The event, which was hosted by UTV\u2019s Pamela Ballantine, saw a tie for first place in the \u2018under 90 room\u2019 category with Belmore Court &amp; Motel, Enniskillen and Tara Lodge taking the honours for 2015.<\/p>\n<p>And there was further success to come for Fermanagh as the winner in the \u2018over 90 rooms\u2019 category was the Lough Erne Resort.<\/p>\n<p>The awards, organised by the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation, are held annually and have been designed to showcase the important role of housekeeping and reward the achievements of housekeeping staff. This is the sixth year they have taken place with support Tourism Northern Ireland, Ecolab and Robinson Services.<\/p>\n<p>Mandy Patrick MBE, president of the Federation, commented, remarked on the importance of housekeeping to the hotel industry, and added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are often forgotten and overlooked when awards are been given out and the NIHF is keen to redress this situation. The Housekeeping Awards were started six years ago and I am delighted to report that we had a record entry in 2015. Support from within the industry has been exceptional and this coupled with assistance from our sponsors has made the 2015 event an outstanding success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2015 competition included a team assessment day with 64 housekeepers undertaking a range of tasks evaluating the skills they use everyday. This was followed by a surprise on-site inspection for the 10 shortlisted finalists. The judging panel assessed the winners on cleanliness, attention to detail and a good overall guest impression.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Pictured with the winners of the recent Hotel &amp;
