Plans to develop a seafront property in the picturesque village of Glenarm in the Nine Glens could be a welcome shot in the arm for the local tourist trade.

Commercial property agency, Lisney, is advertising the development opportunity in Glenarm harbour on behalf of its owners, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council. The 1.2-acre Eglinton Yard site overlooks the marina and Glenarm river. Fronting onto New Road, it is part of the famous Causeway Coastal Route and very near to the existing tourist information office.

The mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Cllr. Lindsay Millar says that if the right buyer can be found, the area could be renewed as a “viable and sustainable jewel in Glenarm’s crown”.

Lisney director, Andrew Gawley, described the site as “a really unique opportunity” to capitalise on its outstanding location and close proximity to a number of key attractions, including Glenarm Castle and Glenarm Forest Park.

“Whilst planning permission for a mixed commercial and residential scheme was previously granted, we are now inviting interested parties to come parties to come forward with their own and parties should then make their own enquiries through the planning process,” added Mr Gawley.
