And despite the weather, devoted Tim Horton’s customer Michael Kane from Dundonald waited for 14.5 hours to be the first to use the new facailities.  He was rewarded for the long wait with a year’s supply of free Tim Hortons coffee – that’s two cups a day.

A hundred free lunches were also given to the first 50 people into the outlet and the first 50 people to use the drive-thru following the official opening recently.

Kevin Hydes, chief finance and commercial officer of the Tim Hortons franchise in the U.K. says he’s thrilled to see such a great response to the opening of the brand’s first drive-thru outlet in Belfast:

‘This is our second restaurant in Belfast and it is great to see so many people enjoying our famous brewed coffee, delicious baked goods and freshly-prepared food,’ he added. ‘We look forward to welcoming the local community to our restaurant.’
