Lillet is an award winning aperitif, a subtle combination of French wines and fruit macerations, crafted in the south of Bordeaux. Created in 1872 by brothers Paul and Raymond, Maison Lillet has kept its uniqueness, relying on passed-on know-how and a strong French heritage. Paul and Raymond created the first and only aperitif from Bordeaux, Lillet, a blend of wines and fruit macerations created in Pondensac cellars. In the 20s and 30s, Lillet was served on very special occasions, and at official receptions soon becoming the aperitif in vogue all over the world. After the second world war, Lillet became the star drink of every trendy bar in New York.
Lillet is a premium brand full of history, still made today in the same way in the distillery in the Bordeaux region. Lillet has been an essential ingredient for mixologists all over the world since the 1930’s, it was even the inspiration behind the James Bond “Vesper Martini”. The 21st century has seen Lillet go from strength to strength with more and more countries discovering Lillet. Maison Lillet remains a team of 8 people who handle the entire production process on its historical site in Podensac.
How to Serve
Serve in a long drink, in a cocktail or neat. Always well chilled to reveal Lillet’s full-fruited, smooth taste. Lillet is natural without artificial colouring and is Low ABV(17% Alc) and low calories.
